About Us

Garrion People’s Housing Co-operative Limited was set up in 1990 and is a non-charitable Industrial & Provident Society and a  non-fully Mutual Co-operative. The Co-operative owns over 200 properties in Wishaw for general needs and also sheltered accommodation. It is registered with Communities Scotland Registration No.  HAC 226 and with the Financial Services Authority Registration No.  2337 R (S)

The Co-operative was formed from a stock transfer from Motherwell District Council in 1990. This was followed by a comprehensive rehabilitation programme completed from 1992 to 1995 and new build properties developed in 1999/2000.

The Co-operative works in partnership with Forgewood Housing Co-operative in Motherwell, operating a joint staffing agreement.
